China: Day 2

Relatively uneventful day today, went out to breakfast this morning and it was SOO TASTEY. It probably woudl’ve gotten a B or lower in terms of health and saftey standards but I don’t care I love this:

It’s Tofu curd or something, sounds nasty actually, but I’ve been craving it ever since I last went to china (11 years ago). It’s basically…uh…Actually I have no idea what it is. It’s mainly tofu and some soupey stuff that is kinda viscous.  Here’s the Wikipedia article, look for 豆腐脑 :) .1 Oh and it’s the first place I’ve seen transports soupy stuff (IE. 豆腐脑 for takeaway) in a fracking plastic bag… weird no?

I also went shopping today and saw a skeletal concrete building, it was pretty cool though there are a ton of construction things going around. Also I walked past one of those sushi on tracks kinda things though I left my phone at home (my shorts had no pockets) so I couldn’t take any pictures :( . Also there was this building on fire (I think). There was smoke comming off it and everything, though the smoke was white so I kinda thought it was water… In china, theres alot of water heaters on the roofs2. It was quite spectacular3 but I was too lazy to take photos…

Finally, did you know that IE. is real messed up with gmail4, it can’t even attach files!

PS. Crossing the roads here is like play frogger. Only more dangerous. Though in some ways, it’s safer, since cars travel alot slower here5.

Oh man I totally forgot, dinner last night was really good. Our immediate family went to this fancy-ish restaurant that was a WHOLE BUILDING. A whole APARTMENT sized building. Yea, where every room has a table, couches and this:

I knew this post felt incomplete before this picture =D

The food was really intracately placed for the most part, especially the entree?6 Pictures!

I’m going to shanghai tomorrow to the expo so expect more pictures!78

  1. If you can read Chinese, then here’s a better article…I think… or use google translator ;D []
  2. rooves?) and some of them may have blown up due to the heat ((It is almost 40 degrees celcuis here after all… []
  3. kinda []
  4. might be an old version, but still… []
  5. though ALOT more reckless… []
  6. It was chinese cuisine so it doesn’t really have “courses” per say, but with the meager portions on the large places, I’d argue that it was an entree []
  7. I promise! []
  8. hopefully I’m going to buy a DSLR camera soon, Canon D550? =D []
