As you can see, it looks superb. Will give a more in-depth look at it when I’ve finished downloading it (torrenting it!) but I doubt I’d be able to run it on the “Super sexy” setting as advertised. It is Crysis after all *rolls eyes*.

I have been enjoying my 2 week break by *some* games ¹

Team Fortress 2:
For those who don’t know, I play tf2 (YagerX obviously is my handle on steam) and have been playing the crap out of it since the start of the holidays. Started to get bored with playing my usual classes (Heavy, Pyro, Medic and Soldier) and started to refine my spy skills. Being a spy is tough. For those who haven’t played before, it essentially boils down to how well you know the maps and how well you can predict the enemy movements (oh and a great deal of luck). I got better…kinda… Then I found this random server which played some AWESOME maps; Ricklers Engineer Jump, Funky slidy race maps and zombie survival maps. Yea overplayed those too…

Garry’s Mod:

First played this over a year ago, have just recently started playing it again. Had to learn wiremod again…(Orb’s tutorials help) and started messing with space build. Is still fun, starting to make an E2 (Expression gate – Funky programming wire module) autopilot kinda thing. Will be lotsa fun

Love Alpha:
This should really be in it’s own post, but will sum up main points. Art style looks great in stills, but really annoying when you’re actually playing. Takes a while to learn and get used to the controls. Servers were kinda empty when i started playing. Desperately needs a tutorial.

That basically summed what I’ve played in the past 2 weeks and a slew of posts *should* follow on the holiday projects.

I’ve just played two really fun new games, Blush and HAWX!

Blush First:

Blush is a 2D “free roaming” game, similar to Flow, However it’s timed just like all the other games made by Flash Bang Studios. The game is about a jellyfish-esque fish that is trying to collect eggs to better itself… You collect eggs and attack other fish using your tentacles which makes for really interesting gameplay….Now go play it!
Done? you see? It’s really good huh! It’s 3d almost lagless graphics in a browser are awesome and it’s executed superbly, luckily I OCD otherwise I’d be playing this game for hours!

HAWX Demo:

I’ve been waiting for a realistic flight combat sim for AGES and this really hits that spot!
It has two control schemes normal and advanced. At first I was playing with the normal scheme but it felt kinda awkward since pitching up meant pitching up even if you were rolled on your side, but after using advanced, I can really say they’re done a really great job with the controls of the game. The combat can be quite confusing for a newbie but I recommend anyone who likes shooters to try this, maneuvering in true 3D is quite the experience! (The demo is 1.2Gb though)

It’s the name of a awesome flash game, I saw it earlier lurking around tigsource (indie dev forum) while it was still under construction…
You’re a giant (ugly) tentatcle monster who just appeared off a coast to a small town, your “goal” is to progress through the story by interacting with the humans.
The game has 5 possible endings, gorgeous pixel art with a simple but interesting narrative.

3 games I’m really looking forwards (short-term), of 3 very different genres…

Fallout 3, Epic ar pe ge by Bethesda (the people who made oblivion) hits the PC, 360 and PS3 October 13. Truly open world and decisions trees the size of spore ;P.
Detonate an old nuke and destroy a city or defuse it and become the town’s hero.
Those kinds of choices make the game truly unique and has “over 300 unique” endings”

Left 4 dead, Co-op zombie survivor. This ain’t you regular slow retarded zombies, theses are mutant zombies hell bent on kill you just because you’re immune to bad breathe. Play with four other people against the zombies of Nowheresville, USA. The ai zomies are all controlled by the “director” an “smart ai that scales the difficulty depending on your skill! Hits PC and tree-city November 11.

I’m really hyped about this game, it reminds me a lot of Star Wars:Republic Commando in a weird way. I suppose its the squad based game play, the constant “Reloading” and the way people are revived. Or maybe it’s just because I’ve been playing too much of republic commando lately…

Anyways, it looks like a really promising game and I’ve included a game play video below!
